Should I use the yellow pages to advertise my junk removal company?
mrgoron1 asked:
I am in the Philadelphia area and the book is in circulation to a million plus (they claim) my company serves an interesting niche, we do junk removal and clean outs (learn more at www.thehunkofjunk.com) we do all the loading and lifting, unlike the dumpster companies that are listed in the book. If I was in the book I would be one of only a small number of companies that provide this service and my major competitor does not advertise here. The cost of a full page is 2,000, I would try to haggle for 1,400. Even if it brought 5 jobs a month it would pay for itself.

HOWEVER, the headline is rubbish NOT cleanouts or junk removal As a small business this ad could make or break us. I am a 21 year old and believe in internet search we are on all major search engines a 1,000 investment brings 20,000 a month. Could the yellow pages be double that? All thoughts and comments greatly appreciated.

yellow page ads are extremely expensive, and the contract is is very hard to get out of once they start bleeding you for more cash.posterboard signs are an efficient and effective way to advertise,as is your website. You can design your own sign layout, have them made and shipped to you from sites on the web, they are inexpensive compared to a yellow page ad,and you can put them just about anywhere.
